Job offer: AML & Compliance Assistant

A prestigious law firm is looking to recruit an AML & Compliance Assistant . Working within the Shipping Department, the selected candidate will act as a liaison between the lawyers and advisors in the Shipping and the Compliance team by being responsible for the following duties: 

• running KYC and AML checks on new clients at onboarding stage
• completing the customer profile on the KYCP Portal in liaison with the relationship lawyer
• completing the relevant job forms as instructed by the lawyers / advisors
• obtaining the relevant letters of engagement from customers
• collating the relevant CDD in accordance with the CDD manual
• conducting screenings on customers (both corporate & natural persons) and intermediaries
• applying the necessary escalations when required and reporting to the Compliance Officer
• Reviewing CDD documentation
• Constantly liaise with the Compliance team and following up on any AML measures as suggested by them

• Previous local compliance experience in a similar position
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English
