THERMASEAL LTD. was the first company to start production of this system in Malta in 1991. This sytem was developed in Germany by the world renowned Bayer and satisfies all the rigorous German requirements for building purposes – including energy conservation and constructional physics.
The vital contribution made by the roof to the functional performance and heat balance of a building has necessitated the development of new and efficient techniques, and materials for roof insulation and sealing. As a result, there had to be a considerable improvement in the quality of the entire roof structure and of the materials used to prevent damage to flat roofs. This, coupled with the tighter legal requirements in Europe – especially those regarding heat insulation and energy conservation

– demanded new and economical methods of carrying out insulation and sealing work. In this regard, the following criteria had to be met:
-the roof insulating material had to be free of thermal bridges
-technically perfect solutions had to be found to numerous awkward flashing problems
-the roof had to be simultaneously sealed
-the method had to be economical
-business can go on uninterrupted whilst renovation takes place as the foam is applied from the outside.
