Job Description Overview:
The Quality Office for Green Open Spaces, Parks, and Gardens plays a crucial role in ensuring the maintenance and improvement of quality standards within these outdoor environments. We are responsible for monitoring, assessing, and enforcing quality control measures to preserve the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of these green spaces.
About the Role:
As a Quality Controller, your tasks will include:
- Conducting regular inspections of green open spaces, parks, and gardens to assess their condition, cleanliness, and safety.
- Ensuring compliance with pertinent regulations, standards, and guidelines governing the maintenance and management of green spaces.
- Responding promptly to emergencies that may affect the safety and integrity of green areas.
- Identifying and addressing potential safety hazards within green open spaces, gardens, and parks.
- Ensuring that maintenance activities are performed according to established standards and schedules.
- Maintaining detailed records of inspections, assessments, and quality control activities for regulatory compliance.
- Collaborating with park management and other stakeholders to address quality-related issues and implement improvement initiatives.
- Offering guidance and training to park staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
- Engaging with the public, addressing concerns, and gathering feedback to improve the quality of green spaces.
- Remaining informed about trends, practices, and emerging technologies related to landscape management and quality control.
- Participating in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a Higher National Diploma in Environmental Science recognized by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) and have at least five (5) years of relevant work experience. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Science (MQF Levels 6 or 7) in relevant fields may apply with different experience levels.
